Donald P. Blake Memorial Scholarship

The Donald P. Blake Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 in honor and memory of Lt. Col. Donald Pierce Blake by Barry Hoffman for Brookhaven Campus students pursuing a Journalism, Photojournalism and Mass Communications degree. Col. Blake was a first-rate photojournalist who served more than 30 years in the US Army, receiving a battlefield commission during World War II and serving his country in both Korea and Vietnam.

Eligibility Criteria

• Major in Photojournalism, Mass Communications – Journalism or Journalism
• Must be a student attending the Brookhaven Campus during the period of the award
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the period of the award
• Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at Dallas College prior to the period of the award
