Dr. Weldon S. Burnham Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Weldon S. Burnham Memorial Scholarship was established in 2019 in memory of Weldon Burnham by his family. Dr. Weldon S. Burnham was one of the original charter faculty members at Richland College where he spent 35 years as a chemistry professor, award-winning educator, and textbook author. This scholarship will continue Dr. Burnham’s legacy of service by providing financial support and encouragement to students aspiring to achieve an Associate Degree or greater in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related professions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Major in Chemistry, Biology, or Physics
  • Must be a Dallas College Student during the period of the award.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must have completed no more than 40 credit hours prior to the period of the award
  • Must meet federal guidelines for financial need. Applicants must complete the entire FAFSA process by May 1st.
  • Essay Required

This scholarship renews for the spring semester. To receive the spring portion, the recipient must maintain the above requirements. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
