Carole Rolnick Shlipak Endowed Scholarship

The Carole Rolnick Shlipak Endowed Scholarship was established in honor of Carole Rolnick Shlipak for her dedication as Dallas College Director of Development and Dallas College Foundation Executive Vice President from 1979 to 1994. This scholarship is awarded to students who have gone from average or less than average grades to outstanding scholastic achievement during their educational experience at a campus of Dallas College. Recipients also serve in leadership or service roles through their involvement in campus or community organizations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a student attending Dallas College during the period of the award.
  • Must have experienced a turn-around in their education as evidenced by an improvement in grades and involvement in college or community organizations while enrolled in Dallas College
  • Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at Dallas College prior to the period of the award
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours for the period of the award
  • Must answer the supplemental questions –
    What caused you to turn around your educational achievement – to progress from average grades to superior scholastic achievement? Please explain.
    What are your career goals? How do you plan to fulfill them?
    How do you plan to coordinate your responsibilities of family, education, work, etc. to ensure that you will meet your goals?
    What are your educational goals? How do you plan to fulfill them?
    In what college or community organization are you involved? How do you see this involvement as helping you in your educational and/or career goals?
  • Must include one recommendation from a Dallas College faculty or staff member
  • Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.

To qualify for this scholarship you must be enrolled in the required hours by the application deadline.
