Janice Wieland Speech Communication Endowed Scholarship

The Janice Wieland Speech Communication Endowed Scholarship was established in 2001 by former Brookhaven College professor, Janice Wieland, to encourage current Brookhaven College students interested in the field of communications.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Major in Communications or Speech Communications
  • Must be a Brookhaven Campus student
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours for the period of the award.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must answer the supplemental questions below.

$300 Spring only

Supplemental Questions
  1. Discuss your communication-related experiences and include any public speaking, media-related work experiences, and community involvement. The essay should include your career objective, your desire and commitment to a professional career in communication.
  2. Share your career/professional aspirations and how you plan to integrate communication studies coursework to shape and strengthen your overall career goal.
  3. Provide name and email address for a recommendation from a high school or college faculty member or counselor.
