Southwest Dallas County AAUW Scholarship
The Southwest Dallas County AAUW Scholarship was established to help fulfill the Southwest Dallas County American Association of University Women (AAUW) mission of education and philanthropy.
Our scholarship program welcomes applicants of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Priority will be given to underrepresented students, first-generation students, low-income students, or those with limited resources, with a preference for students who are at least twenty-one (21) years of age or older. We are dedicated to providing learning opportunities to all students and fostering a welcoming environment for everyone.
Eligibility Criteria
- Major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester of the award
- Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at Dallas College prior to the period of the award
- Must meet federal guidelines for financial need. Applicants must complete the entire FAFSA process

This scholarship renews for the spring semester. To receive the spring portion, the recipient must maintain the above requirements. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
Recipient Requirements
- Recipient must remain in college and complete a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester
- Recipient must attend a Southwest Dallas County AAUW meeting for recognition and publicity
