Mary Iron Eyes Isreal Scholarship

The Mary Iron Eyes Israel Scholarship honors the memory of Mary Iron Eyes, a beloved Richland College Art professor, advocate for the arts, and member of the American Indian community. The scholarship, created by her husband, R. C. Israel, her family, colleagues, and friends, will be awarded to a Richland students with a declared major in the Visual or Performing Arts.

Consistent with Dallas College’s commitment to equality, non-discrimination, and its mission to serve the community, the scholarship is open and available to all students at Dallas College. Preference will be given to first-generation students, low-income students, or underserved populations with a strong passion for and influence by American Indian culture and community.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Major in Visual or Performing Arts
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a student attending the Richland Campus during the period of the award.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester of the award
  • Must meet federal guidelines for financial needs. Applicants must complete the entire FAFSA process
