Marie M. Rozkaw Service Learning Endowed Scholarship

The Marie M. Rozkaw Service Learning Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 to honor Marie M. Rozkow, sister of Dr. Ivan Martinez, former Vice President of Cedar Valley Campus. This scholarship encourages service to the school, community, and country. By providing Mr. Martinez with a home in the United States, Marie made his success in education possible. This scholarship will be awarded to first-generation college students, who have participated in service-learning activities in high school or will be participating in service-learning activities in college. Service to school, community, and country has been one way Mr. Martinez has paid back his opportunity for success. Establishing this scholarship honors Marie M. Rozkaw for her selfless contribution, and extends her influence by helping others attain a college education and encouraging service to the school, community, and country.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a first-generation college student
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours for the period of the award
  • Must have participated in service-learning activities in high school or college
  • * ESSAY REQUIRED*
  • * RECOMMENDATION REQUIRED*

This scholarship renews for the spring semester. To receive the spring portion, the recipient must maintain the above requirements. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
