George Russell Bowdre Memorial Scholarship

The George Russell Bowdre Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of a dedicated DECA/Marketing Education teacher at Lincoln High School. Mr. Bowdre taught in the Dallas Independent School District for 42 years and impacted hundreds of students during his lifetime. This scholarship was established to continue Mr. Bowdre’s legacy.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Major in Business
• Must be a student attending the El Centro Campus during the period of the award
• Must be a graduate of the Dallas Independent School District’s Lincoln High School
• Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at Dallas College prior to the period of the award
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for the period of the award
• Must meet federal guidelines for financial needs. Applicants must complete the entire FAFSA process by May 1st.
• Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
