Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Omicron Mu Omega Chapter Legacy of Service Foundation Scholarship Application

Deadline January 29, 2025, midnight CST. You can save and return to complete this application. This application takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. You will need to submit short answers on community service, leadership roles, and honors/awards. You will be required to attach the following documents: Personal Essay, Two Letters of Recommendation (Teacher/ Community Leader), High School Transcript, and Valid Proof of Income.

There are multiple scholarships available.

Legacy of Service Foundation Scholarhips: To be eligible, you must be a resident of Dallas County or be a graduating senior from a Dallas Metroplex high school, charter school or homeschool. Semi-finalists will be asked to provide proof of low to moderate family income. The GPA requirement is a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Evelyn Foster Hamilton Endowment Scholarship: In addition to the above requirements, to be eligible for the Evelyn Foster Hamilton Endowment, you must be a female minority graduating senior student. You must attend a Historically Black College or University(HBCU) after graduating high school and major in Fine Arts and/or Education in college.

Applications missing any items, for example, recommendation letters or transcripts will not be considered. Applicants living outside of the Dallas Metroplex, for instance living in Collin or Denton County, will not be considered. Applicants with a cumulative grade point average below the minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA will not be considered. Applicants that do not provide valid proof of income (tax statement W2 or 1040, 1040a, 1040ez) will not be considered. The application will close at midnight, CST on January 29, 2025. No late applications will be accepted.
