Scott Murray Scholarship Fund in Culinary Arts

The Scott Murray Scholarship Fund in Culinary Arts at Dallas College, sponsored by Norman Abdallah. The Scott Murray Scholarship Fund awards grants to highly motivated students who intend to pursue their education but lack the necessary financial resources.

Norman Abdallah, who recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Gordon Ramsay North America, has over 25 years’ experience as a CEO/Board member in the restaurant and hotel industry, and international development. He credits his success to mentorship and opportunities provided him by others. He sees this scholarship as a great foundation to help build the next generation of successful culinary professionals.

Scott Murray has decades on experience and passion for helping others. He has worked tirelessly on behalf of local nonprofits to raise millions of dollars to help them achieve their missions and goals, while receiving both local and national awards for his work. He has served as host of countless television specials and radio programs, master of ceremonies at thousands of live events and charity galas, and both keynote speaker for hundreds of corporate conferences and industrial conventions. Scott served for three decades as the EMMY Award-winning Sports Director/Anchor on the local NBC nightly news in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Washington DC markets. Today, he and his son Doug run the EMMY Award-winning Murray Media World, an event A/V, pod cast and filming studios, and video production company.

In 2021, Dallas philanthropist, broadcast journalist, author, CEO and keynote speaker, Scott Murray, received The Scholarship Fund’s inaugural Unsung Hero Award for his extensive service to the community. In December of that year, he assumed leadership of The Scholarship Fund, which then became the Scott Murray Scholarship Fund giving scholarships to part-time or full-time undergraduates attending universities, colleges and technical or vocational schools.
