El Centro Chess Club Scholarship

The El Centro Campus Chess Club Scholarship was established in 2009 by former El Centro Campus employee and chess club advisor Darrell Cook. The ECC Chess club promotes an interest in Chess among the student body at the El Centro Campus. The organization is committed to helping students learn new critical thinking skills, competitive strategies, and good sportsmanship.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Active member of the El Centro Campus Chess Club
• Attending the El Centro Campus each semester
• GPA: 2.0 or higher
• In good academic standing.
• Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more each semester
• Completed 6 or more credit hours prior to the period of the award
  • ESSAY REQUIRED on general scholarship application*

RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

• Active member of the El Centro Campus Chess Club
• Attending the El Centro Campus each semester
• GPA: 2.0 or higher
• In good academic standing.
• Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more each semester
