Myers-LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship

The Myers-LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship was created in 1988 to honor former Dallas College Chancellor Dr. R. Jan LeCroy’s legacy of leadership. Founded by Mike A. Myers, the program awards scholarships to students who embody the hallmarks of the program: exceptional academic achievement and proven leadership skills.

What you get:

  • Full tuition and books for up to six consecutive semesters at Dallas College

Additional Benefits:

  • Recipients are mentored by Mike Myers and Nancy LeCroy
  • Attend cultural, social and leadership events so that recipients are well prepared for success both inside and outside the classroom
  • Beyond Dallas College, students may be eligible for up to $10,000 per academic year during their junior and senior years when they transfer to a four-year college or university, with a maximum total of $20,000 supported by the Mike A. Myers Foundation.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • GPA of 3.0 or B average
  • Have completed less than 30 hours prior to the period of the award
  • Exemplifies outstanding leadership demonstrated by involvement in academic, church and /or community-based activities
  • Attend in-person interview

This scholarship is awarded for up to six (6) consecutive semesters if requirements for each semester are met. Semesters for the Myers-LeCroy Scholarship are counted as:

  • fall = one semester
  • winter/spring = one semester
  • May/summer I and II = one semester.

Must earn a total of 12 hours and have a 3.0 or higher for fall and then spring semester to meet requirements. Failure to maintain scholarship requirements will result in a probationary period.

To receive the subsequent semester awards, you must maintain the scholarship requirements each semester.
