Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship
The Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship honors Erin Tierney Kramp, who showed incredible courage and perseverance while battling breast cancer. It is awarded to students who demonstrate similar strength in overcoming hardship or adversity. Recipients will be asked about Erin Tierney Kramp and their connection to her life and theirs. What you get:
- Full tuition and books for up to six consecutive semesters at Dallas College
- A Life Skills Mentor to support your academic, personal, and professional growth
- Attend cultural, social and leadership events
Additional Benefits:
- Emergency Grant:
- A maximum to any one student up to $2,500 while they are enrolled as a current ETK recipient and does not have to be taken in $500 increments
- Continuing Education Grant: Up to $3,500 to continue your education at a four-year university after Dallas College
- An opportunity to apply for a six-semester scholarship to SMU if you meet the requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
- GPA of 3.0 or B average
- Have completed less than 30 hours prior to the period of the award
- Exemplifies courage and perseverance in the face of hardship or adversity; a moral character with leadership and scholarship qualities as evidenced by high academic standards
- Attend in-person interview
Scholarship Requirements:
- Maintain a commitment to the program and its goals
- Attend planned Erin Tierney Kramp Scholar events
- Successfully completing all classes each semester
- Maintain minimum of eight (8} hours enrollment status each semester
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA or better at the end of each semester
- Maintain the above requirements to receive the scholarship for subsequent semesters.
Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits
This scholarship is awarded for up to six (6) consecutive semesters if requirements for each semester are met. Semesters for Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship are counted as:
- fall = one semester
- winter/spring = one semester
- May/summer I and II = one semester.
