Greater Dallas Restaurant Association Jerry Walker Scholarship

The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association Jerry Walker Scholarship was established in 2015 by the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association to honor and recognize the dedication and efforts of Jerry Walker in the food service industry. This scholarship will provide the necessary funds to develop the future workforce of our industry. Tomorrow’s leaders who will enhance and drive our industry into the future.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must have a minimum DCCCD GPA of 2.0
• Major in Food and Hospitality
• Must be an El Centro College student
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for the period of the award
• Must provide a name and email address for a letter of recommendation from a DCCCD faculty or staff member
• Must answer the supplemental questions –
  Why are you passionate about the hospitality industry?
  How will this scholarship affect your education and career? How do you plan to contribute to your local community during your career as a hospitality or food service professional?
  How do you feel about the time and effort it will take to fulfill those goals?
  What makes you want to pursue a career in the hospitality industry?
• Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
